Welcome to the official website of the Australian Local Government Workforce and Employment Census, a national initiative by federal, state and territory local government ministers to improve local government workforce development.

The workforce census collects standardised workforce data from all 565 councils across Australia, to allow workforce analysis by region, council classification and by state. For more information about the project look at the about page.

The census is now live, following an exhaustive piloting process and councils have until the 21st December  21st January to complete the data entry.

*******Bushfires and heatwaves meant that several councils did not get a change to work on the census last week – if you need an extension till the end of the week (25th Jan) let me know by emailing me at karen.purser@acelg.org.au*******
